ROCKLAND — Elsie M. Morang, 92, died peacefully Dec. 1, 2014, at Windward Gardens in Camden.

Born in China on May 6, 1922, she was one of eight children born to Lee S. and Elizabeth Jackson Pullen.

On Nov. 5, 1940, she married Roger W. Morang in Hallowell. Shortly thereafter the couple moved to Rockland. where they raised their children and lived most of their married lives.

Mrs. Morang was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Rockland and for many years was a member of the McDonald Sunday school class.

She loved to cook and was a kind hearted, practicing Christian who never spoke harsh words, helped those in need and loved the Lord.

For several years she worked as a dietary aid at the former Knox General Hospital in Rockland, and for more than 22 years in housekeeping at Pen Bay Medical Center.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morang was predeceased by her husband in 1973; and two sons, William Francis Morang in 1951 and Roger W. Morang Jr. in 1997. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara A. Morang of Dover Foxcroft, Mary B. Pullen of Nobleboro and Ellen Joan Folsom and her husband, Kent, of Rockland; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 11 a.m. at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St. in Rockland. The Rev. David Forsythe will officiate. Interment will be in Achorn Cemetery on Old County Road in Rockland.
