ROCKPORT — With steamy conditions and a full field, this year’s Goose River Golf Club Invitational was held July 21-23 in Rockport.

16 teams, each comprised of two members, competed in 27 holes of stroke play Saturday, July 22 with an alternate-shot bonus round Sunday, July 23, resulting in a four-flight playoff featuring Steve Daily and Warren Marshall; Pat Parent and Chris Parent; Chum Berry and Dan Benson; and Sandy Ellsworth and Ken Gardiner.

After the Daily/Marshall and Parent/Parent teams were eliminated, two more rounds of a shoot-out ensued resulting in Ellsworth and Gardiner snagging the championship.

“We were very excited at the turnout for this three-day event,” said Goose River Golf Club head pro Alex Plummer. “It’s all about good friends coming together for a relaxed weekend full of good times, good food, and great golf. We thank everyone who played in this year’s Invitational and we look forward to a bigger and better tournament next year.”

Located on the Camden-Rockport line, Goose River Golf Club offers nine challenging and scenic holes for any level golfer, along with a practice facility that includes a green for short game practice and a full driving range.
