After 35 years of marriage, Betty lost Maynard. She filled her time with friends and family. She was a member of two Red Hat Society clubs, the Hope RFD, Lady Shriners, among numerous social groups and weekly gatherings.

In 1999, Betty married Earle P. Lowell of Waldoboro. She expanded her family, gaining nine stepchildren whom she loved dearly. Together they enjoyed several cruises, as well as gardening, camping and boating until his passing in 2005.

After retiring from MBNA, Betty kept busy by helping her son with his trash removal business. Above anything else Betty loved to be surrounded by her loved ones. She will be remembered for her outgoing personality, her smile and her generosity. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
