TENANTS HARBOR — Elaine Kalloch Stewart, née Allen, was released from her earthly body on December 23, 2016.  

Born January 27, 1933 to Henry and Beulah Allen of Tenants Harbor, Elaine had declining health over the last few years following the loss of her eyesight.  Her return to Maine several years ago allowed her to come full circle and spend her last few years with her sister Charlene Black in their childhood home which made her very happy.  

Elaine is survived by her daughters Susan Deatherage of St Louis, Missouri, and Hope McLean of Homosassa, Florida.  

Preceded in death by her son, Scott, and daughter, Karen, she also leaves one granddaughter, Katherine Race of Murray, KY of whom she was very proud.  In addition, she leaves her beloved sister Charlene and her three nieces, Deborah, Elizabeth and Abby whose company and care she greatly appreciated.  

Elaine loved to travel and had an entrepreneurial spirit.  Always on the go in search of the next adventure or the best sale, she was never too busy to share a cup of coffee and a good chat. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on January 27 at the Tenants Harbor Baptist Church.  Burial will take place in the spring at Seaside Cemetery.
