ST. GEORGE — Addiction took another life on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. Edward A. Rogers, our beloved son and brother, left us due to a heroin overdose.

Eddie was born March 30, 1968, in Rockland, to Phyllis Robinson Champagne and Edward Rogers Sr. He attended St. George Elementary School and local high schools. Eddie was a commercial fisherman for many years along the east coast and Alaska.

Well known in the St. George community, Eddie was always lend a helping hand and would strike up a conversation with anyone.

He was predeceased by his loving grandparents, Myrtle and Edwin Robinson; his paternal grandmother, Helen Roderick; and his stepfathers, Gerald Ryan and Ralph Champagne. He is survived by his mother of Tenants Harbor; his father of Arizona; his sisters, Stephanie and her husband, Stephen Stimpson, of Cushing, Patty Ryan of Belfast, and Mary and her husband, Louis Labady, of Portland; her nieces and nephews, Chris and Chelsea, Tommy, Matt and Elliott, Holly and Bert, Josh and Aly, Zach, Alyson, Anna and Rosalie. He also leaves a special cousin, Lillian Black of Florida. In addition to family, he leaves behind a close circle of friends.

A graveside service will be held Friday, May 19, at 3 p.m. at Ridge Cemetery in Martinsville.
