BELFAST – Edna M. (Paul) Blood passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, September 13, 2017. She was born September 12, 1931 in Appleton, the daughter of Raymond and Helen (Esancy) Paul.

Edna grew up in Appleton and Belfast, was actively involved in 4-H and graduated from Crosby High School Class of 1950. After spending a year at the University of Maine in Orono, she married and started raising her six children. She was an amazing seamstress and made clothing for her family and many residents in Belfast. Edna managed Jed's Restaurant in Belfast for Bill Knight for 25 years. She wore many hats, but most importantly kept track of Bill, along with being a second mom to many where she picked up the nicknames Edna Mae and Melba. After her retirement, she went to work for the Duval family at Robbins Brothers Fuel.

Edna enjoyed knitting, crocheting and travelling with family and friends, which typically involved a stop at the slot machines on the cruise ships. A favorite outing for Edna was having coffee and muffins with her friends. She loved attending fairs, playing cards and board games, hosting pool parties for the family, and attending sporting or school events that her children and grandchildren participated in.

In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her son, Robert A. Murphy, Jr., a grandson, Brian Maresh, and sisters-in-law, Delma Paul and Carol Allen and a brother-in-law, Maurice Blood. She is survived by her husband, Stanley Blood; brother, Raymond D. Paul, Sr. and five children, Angela (Jon) Gradie, Valerie (Roger) Martin, Catherine (Alfred) Reynolds, Teresa Murphy, Michael Murphy (companion Mary Hagan). Her grandchildren include Tom, Meghan, Dallas, Justin, Dan, Corey, Kaitlyn, Courtney, Channing, Amanda, Roni, Cassie and their spouses. She had 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, sister-in laws; Veronica Clements and Barbara Blood and brothers-in-law, Clayton Blood and Leroy Blood. She leaves behind many good friends.
