CAMDEN — Doris Turner, 96, of Camden, passed away May 24, 2016. She was born in Rockport on Sept. 16, 1919, to parents Vesper and Amy (Carroll) Hall. Doris was one of seven children.

She graduated from Rockport High School, Class of 1935, and then attended Ballard Business School. Doris married Arthur Turner in June 1939; the two were married for 65 years. Together they had four children. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to Florida and attending his concerts with the Lincolnville Band. Doris loved working in retail, which she did in downtown Camden and Rockport until the age of 88. She loved family gatherings, bowling and reading.

She was predeceased by both parents; her husband, Arthur; two sons, Richard and Donald Turner; two grandchildren, Daniel Miller and Joy Mehuren; and four siblings. Doris is survived by her daughter, Linda Turner Miller of Liberty; her son, David Turner and his wife, Jennifer of Rockport; her daughter-in-law, Wini Turner of Winthrop; her sisters, Esther Frye of Rockport and Helen Russell and her husband, Cliff, of Camden; 21 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

At her request, no services will be held.
