Dinsmore pitches, powers Waldo County to State 11-12 year old tournament

Waldo County punches ticket to State Tournament!

WALDOBORO – The Waldo County 11-12 baseball team entered the tournament as the hands down favorite and showed why as they easily held off Camden-Rockport Saturday to capture the District 2 11-12 baseball championship with a 7-0 win.

Waldo County will now prepare for the State 11-12 tournament that starts July 19 in Augusta.

Grey Dinsmore was hitting the corners and throwing strikes as he pitched a four hit shutout for Waldo County not allowing any runs and one walk while fanning 12 Camden batters.

Waldo scored three runs in the first inning when Nathaniel Johnson singled, Dinsmore singled and Charlie Spiegel singled scoring Johnson for the first run and Aaron Fuller singled scoring Dinsmore and Spiegel for the 3-0 lead.

Dinsmore reached on an error to start the third, stole second and scored on  an infield error from Anthony Tibbetts for the 4-0 lead.

Waldo scored two more in the fourth and one in the sixth to take the 7-0 lead into the bottom of the sixth where Dinsmore struck out two and a fly out to center field gave Waldo County the District 2 Little LEague 11-12 baseball championship.

Cole Anderson pitched for Camden allowing seven runs, three earned on eight hits and one walk while striking out nine.

Hitting for Waldo County were, Dean Grass (run), Johnson (2 singles, run), Dinsmore (2 singles, double, 2 runs), Spiegel (single, run), Fuller (single), Riley Boulay (run) and Grady Doolan (single, run).

For Camden, Noah Erskine (2 singles, double) and Ionut Lodge (single).

Waldo County team members include, Aaron Fuller, Anthony Tibbetts, Dean Grass, Grady Doolan, Matthew Kelley, Grey Dinsmore, Nathaniel Johnson, Chris Dodge, Logan Curtis, Kergan Perkins, Riley Boulay and Charlie Spiegel. The team is managed by Jon Chasse and coached by Jason Fuller and John Tibbetts.

Camden-Rockport team members are, Cole Anderson, Dawson Allen, Quinn Brown, Austin Charkowick, Ethan Cayouette, Noah Erskine, Eben Merryfield, Spencer Johndro, Michael Kremin, Ionut Lodge, Connor O'Farrell, Rylee Rapp and Kerry Sabanty. The team is coached by Kenny Johndro.
