CAMDEN — Deirdre Sue Stein (Tallberg), 47, passed away Oct. 19, 2014, unexpectedly, of natural causes. She was born in Rockland on June 3, 1967.

She was a 1985 graduate of Rockland District High School. Deirdre spent most of her career enjoying her passion for real estate, most recently with Sothebys Legacy Properties in Camden.

Deirdre was kind, generous and especially witty. She could light up the room with her smile. Friends and family often mentioned that Deirdre made them feel special and the center of attention. They remarked about how humble she was, and said she had no idea of her amazing beauty both inside and out. She always knew the right thing to say, complimentary or caring, about the person she was with, which was just perfect.

Although she was the center of our universe, her world revolved around her beautiful daughters, Allison and Madison. Her love for them was all encompassing. They were always first and foremost in her life. She was so proud of all their talents and accomplishments. She had an amazing love and thoughtfulness for children and animals, often surprising little ones with a handmade sweater or a special book. She also looked forward to kisses and hugs from her many four legged friends, and adopted the most special characters into her home.

Deirdre will be sadly missed by her daughters, Allison Jencks and her partner, Kris Lermond, of Union, and Madison Tallberg of Camden; her father, Donald "Pete" Stein and his wife, Joyce, of Camden; her brother, John "Jay" Stein and his wife, Sue, of Rockland; her sister, Kathi Jones and her husband, Andrew, of Union; her nephews, John Stein and Shaun Grant; her beloved pets, Cameron, Mike and Brady; a special "daughter" Annika Metcalf; and her dear friend, Chris Cokinis. Other beloved family include Derak Tallberg of Camden, Lynne and Robert Tallberg of Washington, Kirk Tallberg of Newcastle and Daniel Jencks of Port St. Lucie, Fla. She was predeceased by her mother, Ernestine "Snooky" Stein, six years ago.

We will miss the sound of her high heels clicking, and her generous loving spirit.

Friends and family are invited to join us for a celebration of her life Sunday, Nov. 2 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Cellar Door Winery, 367 Youngtown Road in Lincolnville.
