ROCKLAND – Deanna Louise Allard Conary, 74, died June 19, 2016, at Sussman House in Rockport.

Born in South Thomaston on Oct. 5, 1941, she was the daughter of Harry D. and Alice R. Clark Allard. Educated in local schools, she was a 1959 graduate of Rockland High School. Since that time, Deanna has enjoyed class reunions and getting together with classmates on a regular basis.

During her high school years, she worked at J.J. Newberry's Five and Dime in Rockland. For more than 35 years, she worked at Key Bank, formerly Depositors Trust Company in Rockland.

On Nov. 22, 1964, Deanna married the love of her life, Everett “Gene” Conary at the Rockland Congregational Church. They made their home in Rockland since that time.

Deanna loved her home, which she and Gene first rented before purchasing. She enjoyed opening her home to family and friends for the annual Lobster Festival parade picnic and Christmas parties. Decorating for these events was her specialty and she was very proud of the “Rockland House Decorating Contest Ornament” that she was awarded.

Deanna enjoyed dancing with her husband and they made quite a hit on the dance floor together. They particularly enjoyed their 1969 Ford Galaxy that they took to car shows; and, on sunny days out for little rides. She loved fishing trips to Big Lake and going to camp in Millinocket with family and friends.

“Auntie D,” as her family called her, loved her kitties and always had a pair from the shelter. Ducky and Seeker will miss her.

In addition to her parents; and her husband, Gene, Deanna was predeceased by her sister, Marie Allard Tibbetts; her brother, Ted Allard; her nephew, Paul Tibbetts; and her great-great-nephew, Keith Allard.

She is survived by three nephews, Wayne Tibbetts and his wife, Judy, of Rockland, Stephen Allard and Clark Allard of Largo, Fla.; a niece-in-law, Pam Tibbetts of Camden; a great-nephew and nieces, Mark Tibbetts and his wife, Tonia, of Searsmont, Shelly Tibbetts Dube and her husband, Roger, of Biddeford, and Lori Tibbetts Pezanowski of Rockland; and great-great nieces and nephews, Andrew Allard and his wife, Jessica, Ashley Pezanowski, Trevor Dube and Mallory Tibbetts.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit Thursday, July 7, fom 6 to 8 p.m. at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St. in Rockland, where a celebration of Deanna's life will begin at 7 p.m. The Rev. Seth D. Jones will officiate. Private interment will be in the Achorn Cemetery in Rockland.
