DAY TWO: Storm cancellations, postponements and closings

    MIDCOAST — With the snow still falling, offices and are delayed in opening. Here’s the latest, as of Wednesday morning, March 14:

    Wednesday, March 14:

    Midcoast Solid Waste will be closed all day, Wednesday, March 14.

    All Legislative committee meetings scheduled for Wednesday, March 14th are postponed. 

    The Penobscot Bay YMCA: Penobscot Bay YMCA and the Rockland Harbor YMCA, and the Flanagan Community Center will open at 12 p.m. Wednesday, March 14. The Penobscot Bay YMCA: Teen Center will be closed Wednesday.

    The Camden Town Office will open at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 14.

    The Tenants Harbor Town Office will open at 12 p.m. Wednesday, March 14.

    The Warren Town Office will open at 12 p.m. Wednesday, March 14.

    The Rockport Town Office will open at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 14.

    The Lincolnville Town Office will open at 12 p.m. Wednesday, March 14.

    The Knox County Administrative Offices, Knox County Superior Court, and Rockland District Court will open at 12 p.m. on Wednesday March 14, 2018 due to the storm.

    The Maine State Legislative offices will open at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14th.

    The City of Rockland is declaring an emergency parking ban. Parking of any vehicles upon all of the city streets from 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 13 until 12 p.m. Wednesday, March 14 is prohibited.

    The Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber Commerce March Business After Hours scheduled for this Wednesday, will now take place next Wednesday, March 21st, from 5 to 7 pm, at Michael Good Gallery, 325 Commercial Street, Rockport.

    Tuesday, March 13:

    The Maine Legislative Offices will close at 12 p.m. Tuesday, March 13.

    Governor Paul R. LePage has announced that all State offices will be closing at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 13 due to weather.

    The Maine State Lottery Office will be closing at 12:30 p.m.

    The South Thomaston Town Office will close at 12 p.m. Tuesday, March 13.

    The Warren Town Office will be closing at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 13.

    The Belfast Transfer Station will be closed Tuesday, March 13 and Wednesday, March 14.

    The Five Town CSD (Camden Hills Regional High School) school district will be rescheduling its Winter Community Book Read of Future Wise: Educating Our Children for a Changing Word, to Tuesday, April 3rd at 6:30 p.m.

    The School Committee Budget Workshop at Hope Elementary School has been changed from Wednesday, March 14 to Thursday, March 15 at 5 p.m.

    The Rockport Town Office and Rockport Library will be closing at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 13.

    Mid-Coast Solid Waste will be closing at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 13th due to the pending storm. On Wednesday, March 14th the facility may not open as scheduled at 8 a.m., however MSWC will open when the storm has subsided and the facility is safe to operate.

    The Union Town Office will be closed Tuesday, March 13.

    The Camden Town Office is closed March 13.

    Due to the storm the Lincolnville Town Office will be closed on Tuesday, March 13.

    The regularly scheduled meeting for the Knox County Republican Committee has been cancelled Wednesday, March 13. 

    The Penobscot Bay YMCA: Penobscot Bay YMCA and the Rockland Harbor YMCA will close at 11 a.m Tuesday, March 13. The Penobscot Bay YMCA: Teen Center and Flanagan Community Center will both be closed Tuesday. 

    The Belfast Free Library will be closed Tuesday March 13. The book talk with Sherri Mitchell ( originally Tuesday 3/13) has been rescheduled to Wednesday March 14th at 6:30.

    The Knox County Administrative Offices, Knox County Superior Court, and Rockland District Court will all be closed, tomorrow, Tuesday March 13, 2018 due to the storm. 

    Due to pending weather conditions, the RSU 20 School Board meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 13, has been rescheduled to Tuesday, March 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the RSU 20 Central Office.

    The program scheduled for Tuesday, March 13 at the Camden Public Library has been postponed to Tuesday, June 5 at 7 p.m. due to the incoming storm. The program is titled "Maine Boys Overseas, German Boys in Maine" and focuses on the local impact of prisoners of war during World War II.

    The Tuesday March 13, 2018 Knox County Commission Meeting has been rescheduled to next Monday March 19 at 2:00 PM.

    The Midcoast Recreation Center in Rockport will be closing at noon on March 13 and reopening on Wednesday, March 14 at 1 p.m.

    The Maine Legislature's public hearings/work sessions tomorrow, Tuesday, March 13, will be postponed due to the winter storm. Legislative offices will be open.

    Tuesday: Snow. Snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches. Highs in the lower 30s. Northeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. Chance of snow near 100 percent.

    Tuesday Night: Snow. Additional heavy snow accumulation. Lows in the upper 20s. North winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph, becoming northwest 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph after midnight. Chance of snow near 100 percent.

    Wednesday: Rain likely. Snow. Little or no additional snow accumulation. Highs in the upper 30s. West winds around 10 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of precipitation 90 percent.
