CAMDEN — Dave Morrison, a Camden resident, has stepped into the role of Camden Opera Manager following the recent resignation of Kerry Hadley, who had been manager of the town-owned and operated opera house for the past 16 years.

Hadley resigned last week, according to Town Manager Audra Caler-Bell, because she wanted move on to other opportunities.

Morrison, who has likewise been with the Camden Opera House for many years as assistant opera house manager and technical director, will assume manager duties March 1.

He has just hired an assistant, Juniper Purinton, to fill his position.

Morrison will be paid $56,614 annually  in his new role and Purinton will step in with an annual salary of $40,539.

Karina Shorten has decided to stay on as the Promotions and Box Office Assistant.

“The team at the Opera House remains dedicated to putting on great shows that add vibrancy to Camden,” said Town Manager Caler-Bell. “Over the coming year there will be a renewed focus on promoting up and coming Maine based performers.”
