ROCKLAND — Daurice E. “Dee” Wadsworth, 93, died peacefully April 14, 2016, at Knox Center for Long Term Care.

Born in Owls Head on May 18, 1922, she was the daughter of Fred C. Sr. and Maude Webber Tolman. She was educated in local schools. She married Charles Wadsworth on Sept. 14, 1940.

After devoting her life as a homemaker and raising her sons, with her husband, Dee moved to Rocky Hill, Conn. While in Connecticut, she worked as a production operator with the Colt Corporation until her retirement in 1991, when she returned to Maine.

In addition to her parents, Daurice was predeceased by her husband, Charles A. Wadsworth, on July 23, 1992; four siblings; and two grandchildren, Diana M. Moody and David C.S. Wadsworth.

She is survived by two sons, Charles A. Wadsworth and his wife, Peggy, of Waldoboro, and Kirk A. Wadsworth and his wife, Sharon, of Hope; four grandchildren, Debra Benner, Tony Wadsworth, Heather Wadsworth and Susan Mullen; and eight great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 19, at 2 p.m. at Achorn Cemetery on Old County Road in Rockland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital, Maine Medical Center Development Office, 22 Bramhall Street, Portland, ME 04102.
