Damariscotta Police Department: Busy week for officers

    The Damariscotta Police report the following activity from May 16, to May 22, 2016

    May 16

    Officer Halpin assisted a citizen on Pinkham Road; assisted citizens at the police department; assisted a citizen on Main Street; and took a report of harassment on Main Street.

    Sgt. Warlick took a report of harassment on Main Street.

    May 17

    Officer Halpin took a lost property report on Main Street and is investigating a report of threatening on Main Street.

    Sgt. Warlick is investigating a report of suspicious activity on Center Street; investigated a parking problem on Main Street; summonsed Denise Cloutier of Bristol for open container on Main Street; is investigating a possible PFA violation on Main Street; and conducted a compliance check on Main Street.

    May 18

    Officer Dotson took a police information reports on Main Street and Back Meadow Road; assisted a citizen on Edward Drive; summonsed Simone Zimmerman of Newcastle for speeding on Main Street; and summonsed Amanda Wallace Welch of Newcastle for failing to provide evidence of insurance on Bristol Road.

    Sgt. Warlick took a police information reports at the police department and Main Street; took a report of suspicious activity on Water Street; and took a report of found property on Main Street.

    May 19

    Officer Halpin took a report of suspicious activity on Biscay Road; responded to a report of a dog left in a vehicle showing signs of distress on Courtyard Street; investigated a report of an erratic vehicle on Biscay Road; and investigated a report of theft and disorderly conduct at Maine Coast Book Shop & Café on Main Street.

    Officer Dotson took a report of an erratic vehicle on Main Street.

    Officers issued several warnings for speeding on May 19.

    May 20

    Sgt. Warlick summonsed Hilary O’Hara of Owls Head for failing to provide proof of insurance on Main Street; responded to a report of an erratic vehicle on Bristol Road; arrested Scott Stevenson of Round Pond for OUI on Bristol Road; took a report of lost property on Main Street; took a report of found property on Main Street; investigated a report of a parking problem on Main Street; and summonsed Sharon Leeman of Wiscasset for improperly parking a motor vehicle on Main Street.

    Officer Sylvester took a police information report on Main Street; is investigating a report of a missing person on Main Street; and took a found property report on Main Street

    May 21

    Officer Dotson took a report of an erratic vehicle on Route 1.

    Officer Halpin assisted with a disabled motor vehicle on Route 1; investigated a report of a dog left in a vehicle on Main Street; assisted another agency on Main Street; investigated a report of theft at Hannaford on Main Street; summonsed Robert Moll of Chelmsford, Massachusetts for theft by unauthorized taking; and took a report of an erratic vehicle on Route 1.

    Officer Dotson is investigating a report of harassment on Main Street; summonsed Jennifer Huynh of Portland for insurance and warned for speeding and failing to produce driver’s license on Main Street; summonsed Eleanor Bramwell of Baltimore, Maryland for speeding on Main Street; and is investigating a report of phone harassment on South Road.

    May 22

    Officer Halpin investigated a report of an erratic vehicle on Route 1; arrested Ali Hartley of Boothbay Harbor for OUI on Route 1; took a report of harassment on South Road; and investigated a report of suspicious activity on Parking Lot Lane.

    Officer Sylvester took a report of lost property on Coastal Market Drive.

    Damariscotta Police Department responded to 250 calls for service during the time period of May 16 to May 22 including: 8 animal complaints, 12 assist citizen, 11 assist other, 1 attempt to locate, 1 compliance check, 148 property checks, 1 community policing, 1 disabled motor vehicle, 1 erratic operation, 5 harassment, 1 missing person, 20 motor vehicle stops, 2 parking problems, 13 police information, 8 found/lost property, 1 shoplifting, 4 suspicious activity, 1 theft/forgery/fraud, 2 threatening, 5 traffic control and one violation of a PFA.
