Crash in Lincolnville knocks out power to 1,203 CMP customers

    LINCOLNVILLE — Wind gusts are knocking down limbs Tuesday night, but in Waldo County it’s a car crash in Lincolnville that has cut power to as many as 2,613 Central Maine Power customers.

    Lincolnville Fire Department is on the scene of a single-car accident that caused a utility pole to snap in half and knocked down a three-phase power line. Deputy Fire Chief Mike Eugley said all of Lincolnville, as well as Islesboro are without power. The downed line is also affecting power to some Northport residents.

    The driver was not injured in the crash, but Ducktrap Road is closed to traffic.

    According to CMP, all 916 Islesboro customers are without power and 468 of the 1,279 customers in Northport are in the dark. In Lincolnville, CMP is reporting 1,203 of its 1,671 customers without power.

    The weather is also affecting residents in Knox County, where CMP is reporting a total of 299 customers without power. The towns are affected are Camden (2), Hope (1), Rockport (22), Warren (145) and Washington (129).
