ROCKLAND, WINDSOR, and SAVANAH, Ga. — Colleen Weed, 62, beloved wife, daughter, mother and sister, died peacefully Aug. 13, 2014, at her daughter's home surrounded by her family following a long battle with ALS .

Born May 7, 1952, she was the daughter of William and Patricia Holbrook Sansom of Rockland. She was educated locally, graduating from Rockland District High School and earning an associates degree from University of Maine at Orono.

Colleen was predeceased by her father; a son, Capt. Trevor Linscott of Camden; and a half-brother, Terrance Flaherty of Warren. She is survived by her husband, Douglas, of Windsor; her mother, Patricia; her daughters, Shawneen Sansom of Rockland and Charity Wentworth of The Neck; her brother, William Holbrook and his companion, Sandra Lucas, of Marlboro, Mass.; her sister, Coral and her husband, Michael Coombs, of Lincolnville; two grandchildren, Samantha Sansom and Brianna Wentworth; and a nephew, Joshua Coombs, his wife, Melissa, and their daughter, Sophie. She is also survived by her half-brothers, Colby Flaherty of Jacksonville, N.C., Timothy Flaherty of Lincoln, Neb., and Michael Flaherty of Warren.

Colleen's family has chosen to remember her life privately.
