Clemetson Brothers perform spring recital at Lincolnville church May 19
LINCOLNVILLE CENTER — The public is invited to a Spring Recital entitled "Music and Reflections on Spring" to be held at the United Christian Church (UCC) on Sunday, May 19 at 4 p.m. The forty-five minute recital will feature music performed by the Clemetson Brothers of Belfast and the reading of selected spring poems.
Brothers Timmy, Willy and Clayton Clemetson (ages 11, 14 and 19) are raising money to attend music camps this summer. This past year the brothers began collaborating musically, improvising, composing songs together, performing, busking, and now they are hoping to raise the money to go to both Fiddle Camp and a Village Harmony singing tour.
Willy, a budding herbalist and naturalist, started playing the fiddle at Fiddle Camp seven years ago. Timmy is likely going to be a mechanic or craftsman when he grows up, and he has been playing the penny whistle for about four years. Clayton has been improvising and composing on the piano for eleven years. He recently returned from a three month biking and hitch hiking trip in New Zealand and plans to attend Berklee School of Music to study composing music for film. Copies of Clayton's CD, Barefoot in the Snow, will be available for purchase at the recital. For a sample of Clayton's music, visit claytonclemetsoncomposer.blogspot.com.
The United Christian Church is supporting the Clemetsons in their efforts, and all donations received will go to their tuitions. The church is handicapped accessible and is located at 18 Searsmont Road, Rt. 173, in Lincolnville Center. All are welcome. For further information call Mary Schulien, Music Director, at 785-3521.
