Chocolate, art, and music
BELFAST - On Friday, Dec. 7, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., join Åarhus Gallery for an evening of chocolate tasting, music, and Maine-made crafts and gifts at this holiday extravaganza. Dean's Sweets, makers of delicious hand-dipped truffles and chocolate bars, and winner of a 2011 Best of Portland Award, will provide samples of their chocolates as the solo piano of Clayton Clemetson calms the mind for some holiday browsing and shopping.
Dean's Sweets will tantalize your taste buds at the tasting table with a sample or two of chocolate with flavors including: Brandy, Maple, Cayenne, and Salted Caramel truffles, and chocolate bars including Brandied Orange Peel, Mocha Latte, and Maine Potato Chip.
The jam-packed "extravaganza" show features a wide array of smaller artworks and creative crafts priced with gift giving in mind. Over 70 talented Maine artists from throughout the Midcoast and beyond are represented in a dazzling variety of mediums, including: pottery, poetry and painting, collage, etching and photography, woodblock prints, turned wood, felted and knitted fiber works, assemblage, cards, calendars, ornaments, glass plate images of Maine, jewelry, music and more.
Åarhus Gallery is located at 50 Main Street in Belfast and is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Mondays by chance, and Friday nights until 7 p.m. for the month of December. The gallery will close at 3 p.m. on December 24.
