THOMASTON — Chelsea Lynne Jones, of Thomaston, passed away Nov. 18, 2015, at Maine Medical Center, at the tender age of 22, from a fatal accident. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Chelsea was born in Rockport on Sept. 21, 1993. A beautiful, blue-eyed blonde, Chelsea had a big heart filled with love for her family, immediate and extended, birth and blended, by blood, by law and by choice. Chelsea lived life on her own terms. She loved her family and her friends, and had a passion for animals.

She attended School Administrative District 40 schools throughout her younger years, keeping busy on the basketball and soccer teams. While attending Medomak Valley High School Chelsea earned the nickname "Shorty." She amused her teachers and classmates by cracking jokes like, "I'm not short, I'm fun-sized!" Chelsea's engaging personality and mischievous smile were contagious and she made friends wherever she went.

As a big sister, Chelsea couldn't resist the urge to tease her siblings whenever the opportunity arose, but she was there for them through thick and thin. In addition to teasing her siblings, she was also known to be a mother hen to her younger family members. She put that experience to use by volunteering with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program for several years.

The love she poured into her siblings and younger family members soon grew when she met her fiance, Dylan Grubbs. From a very young age Chelsea always had a mother's heart, she knew she was destined to care for children. When she had her own, they became the focus of her world, her pride and joy. Kyleigh and Jordan are two beautiful children that brought a new light to the eyes that still had a spark of mischief every now and then. Chelsea enjoyed spending time with Dylan, their children, their family and friends. Chelsea never missed a family gathering and her bubbly personality brought joy to every party.

Chelsea liked to listen to music and dance with her friends. She was often texting and laughing on the phone, or hanging out at the lake. She also was employed at McDonald's, and took pride in everything she did. Her grandfather often joked of seeing her at work, "I saw Chelsea today, all dressed up!" For many, seeing her smiling face was a bright point in their everyday routines. Mostly, though, Chelsea always aspired to be the best mother she could for her children.

Chelsea wore her heart on her sleeve and was always quick to help someone in need. She would want to bring home every stray animal or troubled friend, and often did. Knowing that Chelsea would always give her all, her family came together to make one last decision. Not only will she live on in her children, but others may live on as well due to her family's decision to donate her organs, a decision they felt would carry on her legacy through her gift of life.

Preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents, Betty and Sulo Rytky; her maternal great-grandparents, Lewis and Flora Edwards; her paternal great-grandmother, Alma Jones; and paternal aunt, Kimi Palmer; Chelsea is survived by her fiance, Dylan Grubbs, and their children, Kyleigh and Jordan Grubbs, all of Thomaston; her mother and step-father, Marie and Darrell Curtis of Hope; her father and step-mother, Keith and Linda Jones of Warren, her maternal grandparents, Lewis and Sheila Edwards of Rockland; her maternal grandparents, David and Carol Curtis of Belfast; her paternal grandparents, Jeanette and Robert Palmer of Waldoboro; her paternal grandparents George and Noreen Jones of Thomaston; her paternal great-grandmother, Mary McCluskey; her paternal great-grandfather, David Underwood; her maternal great-grandparents, Florence and Ashley Brown; her brother, Tyler Jones of Jefferson; her brother, Noah Curtis of Hope; her stepbrother, Derek Curtis, of Merritt Island, Fla.; her stepsister, Sarah Richards of Warren; her stepbrother Justin Richards and his wife, Jillian, of Waldoboro; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
