ROCKLAND – From the middle of September through late October, the port of Rockland will welcome thousands of passengers from seven larger cruise ships into the Camden-Rockland Region for day-long visits. Passengers coming ashore will be greeted in Rockland and Camden by Chamber staff and volunteers, ready to provide visitor guides, maps, and information to aid them as they explore the region.

The fall schedule includes the following ships:

Vision of the Seas, of Royal Caribbean Cruises, accommodating 2,416 passengers, will visit a total of four times this fall: September 13, September 26, October 4, and October 20.

Pearl Mist, of Pearl Seas Cruises, accommodating 210 passengers, will be in port on September 21.

Silver Whisper, of Silver Seas Cruises, accommodating 382 passengers, will be in port on October 15.

Norwegian Gem, of Norwegian Cruise Lines, accommodating 2,394 passengers, will be in port on October 19.

Some passengers will take shore excursions to destinations such as the Owls Head Transportation Museum, downtown Camden, and Mount Battie. Many visitors will also spend time exploring Rockland's museums, shops and restaurants.

Chamber staff and dozens of volunteers have been greeting the American Cruise Lines ships, American Constellation and Independence, since mid-May as both ships have anchored in Camden and Rockland harbors on a weekly basis throughout the summer.

Volunteers are always welcome at the Chamber of Commerce! If you would like to be a volunteer cruise ship greeter or help staff our visitor centers throughout the year, please contact Elizabeth Burrell, Chamber Operations Manager, at 207-596-0376 or Elizabeth@CamdenRockland.com.
