Catherine Berry Watson, obituary

WALDO — Catherine Berry Watson passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of November 29, 2017 surrounded by her family. Cathy was born in Searsport, Maine on December 13,1938 to George L and Pearle (Reynolds) Berry.

Cathy was a kind and generous woman who loved to laugh with her friends. She enjoyed taking long rides and stopping at yard sales. She enjoyed interior decorating and crafts, fall being her favorite season. 

She loved colors and watching deer. 

Christmas being her favorite holiday, her home was always decorated and she loved taking rides looking at other homes lit up with lights and displays. In 2001, Cathy took on the steps to achieve her GED. No matter how hard her studies were, she refused to quit. Cathy was an avid Red Sox baseball and New England Patriot fan. She also enjoyed Maine high school basketball.

Cathy was employed as a dietition at the Massachusetts Hospital for Disabled Children in Canton, Massachusetts, the Republican Journal and Stinson Canning, both of Belfast.

Cathy was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Carl Watson; her parents; four brothers: George,Richard, Frank and Robert; and two grandchildren, Chuck and Shane.

Cathy is survived by her sister, Charlene Cook, of Belfast; her sons, Carl Watson, Jr., and his partner, Cheryl Cook, of Waldo; Steven Watson, of Belfast; and her daughter, Darlene ChinChar. of Belfast. Cathy had eight grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great- grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. May 5, at Grove Cemetery in Belfast followed by a memorial get-together in the dining room at Belfast Square Apartments on Merriam Road, Belfast. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.ripostafh.com.
