ROCKLAND – Carleton Roy Hallett, 53, died suddenly on July 31, 2016, at home, with his loving brother by his side.

Born in Rockland on Jan. 16, 1963, he was the son of Heman and Emily Sawyer Hallett. Educated locally he attended Rockland Schools.

Carleton entered the work force at the age of 16, beginning his career with O'Haras. For many years he was employed as a fork-lift driver, unloading and receiving shipments of ice and fish.

If there was one thing Carleton loved, it was a bargain. He enjoyed a daily trip to Goodwill and loved to go hunting through yard sales for something to add to his trinket or bobble head collection.

Predeceased by his parents; Carleton is survived by his daughters, Krysti Hallett and her fiancé, Heath Prior, of Rockland, Jessica Maddocks of Belfast, Ralene Hallett of Rockland and Tonja LaClerc of Warren; his six grandsons, with one more grandson on the way, Caleb Brewer, Joshua Trott, Dominick Maddocks, Addison Maddocks, Logan Paul and Leyton Grant; his siblings, Guy Hallett and his wife, Elaine, Bruce Hallett, and Connie Benner and her husband, Ralph, all of Rockland; the mother of his children, Janice Hallett of Thomaston; as well as many nieces, nephews and a large extended family and circle of friends.

Carleton's family will hold a memorial service on Sunday, Aug. 14, at 1 p.m. at Achorn Cemetery in Rockland.

Caring cremation provided by Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home.
