COPLIN PLANTATION — Carl Baade Shorey of Coplin Plantation, beloved husband, son, brother and friend, died suddenly March 25, 2015, of a heart attack. Carl was born July 27, 1960, the son of Raymond and Elizabeth Shorey of Scarborough.

Carl was a genuine Jack-of-all-trades, and a master of many. He worked in various types of construction for many years. Most recently, Carl, with his wife, Liz, began and operated a new business, Good Dog Firewood.

Carl is survived by his wife of 11 years, Elisabeth “Liz” Remsen. He was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth Baade Shorey. He is survived by his father, Raymond Shorey, of Oquossoc; his siblings, Susan Shorey of Portland, Stephen Shorey of Montecello, N. H., Rusty Shorey of Oquossoc, Brian Shorey of Oquossoc, and Katherine “Brat” Shorey of Stratton; three nieces; two nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Carl was always more than willing to lend a helping hand to friends and family. He enjoyed being outdoors and was devoted to his Rottweilers - his "good dogs.” He loved relaxing at home with Liz, their dogs Zippo, Blaze, Henry and Freedom, and the buds.

A celebration of Carl's life will be held Sunday, April 12  at 1 p.m. at "Carl's Office" — the Stratton Plaza Hotel in Stratton.
