Camden Winterfest is quickly approaching... Feb. 4 kickoff with ice and snow sculpting

    CAMDEN – Have you noticed Cam the Winterfest polar bear around Camden? Cam is looking forward to enjoying the Winterfest celebrations beginning on Saturday, Feb. 4 and continuing until Sunday, Feb. 12. Keep your eyes out for Cam when you take part in the upcoming festivities and share your photos with Cam on the Winterfest Facebook page.

    CamJam, taking place on Saturday, Feb. 4 and Sunday, Feb. 5, is one of the anticipated events of Winterfest. Saturday is the main event with an open class that is recommended for experienced skiers and snowboarders. Sunday is open to kids 14 and under to compete in the family friendly event. Events on both days will begin at 9 a.m.

    Applications are still being accepted for the annual Snow Plow Parade on Friday, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. and for the Maine State Snow Sculpting Championships on Saturday, Feb. 4 and Sunday, Feb. 5. Visit camdenwinterfest.com to fill out an online application for either event.

    The week long winter celebration concludes with the U.S. National Toboggan Championships on Saturday, February 11th and Sunday, February 12th. What the New York Times describes as an event that brings our community, state and others together to enjoy the beautiful Maine winter in Camden.
