CAMDEN — A group of local citizens planning to participate in the Peoples Climate March on Sunday, September 21 have arranged for bus transportation from Camden to New York City.

On September 21, thousands of people are planning to march through the streets of New York City to peacefully deliver the message that now is the time for bold action to respond to the climate crisis. The People's Climate March is a response to the UN Climate Summit called by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to "urge governments to support an ambitious global agreement to dramatically reduce global warming pollution." It is expected to be the largest climate march in history.

People of all ages are welcome to get on the Camden charter coach bus, which will depart from 32 Washington St. in Camden (the location of Watershed School) at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20 and will return to Camden late on Sunday, Sept. 2. The march is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday at Columbus Circle in Manhattan.

Tickets are $60 per person round trip. For ticket purchases and information on the march, and Saturday night lodging, email jmcmahon@midcoast.com.
