    CAMDEN — Camden Public Library has a lot of events happening in the first half of April, from chorus concerts, philosophy discussions and support group meetings to game nights and storytelling.

    Sunday, April 2
    2 p.m. — Quasimodal Chorus concert in the Library Reading Room. Also performing: The January Men and Then Some, and The Mill Street Irregulars.

    2 p.m. — Cyber Sunday Technology Class: Evaluating the truth in news with technology coordinator Olga Zimmerman.

    Monday, April 3
    3 p.m. — Estate Planning Workshop with Jesse Bilfulco. Learn the basics of preparing your will and other important steps to protecting your assets.

    Tuesday, April 4
    10 a.m. — Career Planning with New Ventures Maine. Second session.

    4 p.m. — Camden Philosophical Society. All who enjoy a good discussion are welcome to join.

    7 p.m. — A Way of Life: The Fishing Families of Stonington." Art Gallery Opening Talk with photographer Jeff Dworsky and the Penobscot Marine Museum.

    Wednesday, April 5
    10 a.m. — Midcoast Stroke Support Group. All are welcome.

    Thursday, April 6
    7 p.m. — Coffeehouse with Sara Grey and Kieron Means and their Western Song musical saga of outlaws, pioneers and cowboys. $10 admission at the door.

    Thursdays, April 6, 13, 20 and 27
    12:30 p.m. — Coastal Senior College - Hollywood as Ideology. Taught by William S. Solomon, examines how movies reaffirm and sometimes revise the values that pervade popular culture.

    Fridays, April 7, 14, 21 and 28
    1:30 p.m. — Grown Up Storytime, special month of poetry or maritime-themed stories.

    3 p.m. — Tabletop Gaming for ages 10-100. All welcome, bring a game and a snack.

    Sunday, April 9
    2 p.m. — Camden-Rockport Historical Society at the Library. Maine State Historian Earle G. Shuttleworth Jr. will tell the stories of three female photographers from Maine: The Land and Sea of Three Women Photographers.

    Sunday, April 9 through Saturday, April 15
    National Library Week — Visit the library this week and share your story about what libraries mean to you. Join the staff in wearing different colors every day this week. Sunday-brown, Monday-blue, Tuesday-black, white and gray, Wednesday-purple, Thursday-red, Friday-green, Saturday-pink.

    Monday, April 10
    Noon — Lunch and Learn with Lisa Cooley: Stop the Battle Over Grades. A workshop for parents on navigating the middle and high school years.

    Tuesday, April 11
    9:30 a.m. — Career Planning with New Ventures Maine. Third session. Snow makeup day from March. NOTE EARLIER START TIME.

    1 p.m. — Tuesday Book Club. The book club is reading The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion. New members welcome.

    7 p.m. — Arctic Observations with Peter Ralston, photographer and gallery owner, speaking about his trips to the Arctic, climate change, cultural impact, and the awe-inspiring ice of Greenland.

    Tuesdays, April 11 and 25
    1 p.m. — Leer y charlar. Read and chat entirely in Spanish. All who are proficient in Spanish are welcome to attend.

    Wednesday, April 12
    1 p.m. — National Library Week Matinee: Desk Set. Celebrate all things library with the ultimate librarian movie starring Katharine Hepburn.

    Thursday, April 13
    7 p.m. — Schooner Captains' Roundtable. Join some of the schooner captains from Camden and Rockland for a lively discussion about their unique lifestyles and stories from the sailing life. Discussion led by Dave Jackson.

    The Camden Public Library will be closed Sunday, April 16 and Monday, April 17 for Easter and Patriot's Day.
