ROCKPORT — The Camden Hills ice hockey team hosted John Bapst of Bangor Saturday night at the Midcoast Recreation Center on Route 90 and handed the Crusaders a 5-0 loss to take home.

Camden Hills goes to 5-1 on the season and sits in first place in the Western Class B division. John Bapst falls to 1-3 and is now in fifth place in Eastern Class B. The top seven teams make the playoffs in Western B while the top six contend in Eastern B.

The Windjammers scored once in the first period, twice in the second and two more times in the third period.

John Bapst out shot the Windjammers 36-29, but Zachary Hand was on fire for the Windjammers stopping everything that came his way to record the shutout. Hand has been outstanding in goal this season and has yet to allow a goal.

James Annis had a hat trick and an assist to set the pace for the Windjammers. Jonah Cameron added a goal and assist. Cameron Christie had a goal to round out the scoring. Nick Tassoni had a pair of assists and Chase Matteo added one assist.

Sam Lander was in goal for the Crusaders where he had 24 saves on 29 shots in the loss.

The Windjammers were playing hard and being aggressive from the first face-off and paid for it in the penalty box. They were whistled for seven penalties for a total of 17 minutes in the box. That is almost a period and a half down a player, yet they were able to keep the Crusaders from scoring in that time. John Bapst was called for five penalties for 10 minutes in the box.

Next Saturday, Dec. 27, the Windjammers will face off against Orono/Old Town at MRC with a 6 p.m. start time. John Bapst will host Presque Isle Tuesday, Dec. 23
