ROCKPORT – Six teams from around the state collected at Camden Hills Friday for a track and field meet that got turned into a track meet only.

Don Palmer Field, where they normally hold the field events, was not up to the challenge of using shot puts, discus and javelin throwing on as it is still too wet and soggy from the long hard winter.

Despite that the day was put to good use with all the track events getting all the attention. It appeared that some of the track events had some new people that maybe do not get a chance to run as much as they would like because of other events they may normally have going on at the same time.

The boys team scores were, 1, Medomak Valley, 71 points; 2, Boothbay, 66; 3, Oceanside, 54; 4, Maine Central Institute, 53; 5, Camden Hills, 44; 6, Skowhegan, 39; and Nokomis 11.
