CAMDEN — Thanks to The Camden Hills Regional High School, Camden For Community Team, for their hard work during this year's Postal Food Drive.

The United Food & Commercial Workers International "Stamp out Hunger" program Food Drive was on Saturday, May 14, and the Camden Area Christian Food Pantry received two van loads of food to help needy individuals in Midcoast Maine.

The six-member team from Camden For Community really helped us a lot by picking up the food at the Camden Post Office, carrying it back to the food pantry and sorting it, all in record time. If you need volunteers, contact them at camdenforcommunity@gmail.com.

Thanks to them, this food will be available to our many clients immediately during our normal distribution days on next week; Tuesday 8-11 a.m. and Thursday 4-6 p.m. Residents of Camden, Rockport, Lincolnville, Hope, Appleton, Union, Washington and Searsmont are welcome to visit once per week.

The students at the Camden Hills Regional High School have a long history of helping others in need and supporting their community in so many ways. We are proud of them and very grateful for their service and contributions to the Food Pantry and our towns.

The need here in Maine is both great and surprising and the Camden Area Christian Food Pantry, with volunteers from the community and several local churches in and around Camden, is pleased to be able to help eight local towns with food items that make a difference in their lives and their children's health.
