Cal Ripken Baseball registration, tryouts in Belfast

BELFAST - The Cal Ripken Baseball League in Belfast will be holding an open registration event at the Waldo County YMCA, 157 Lincolnville Avenue in Belfast, on Monday, March 18, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., for anyone interested in particpating in the 2013 season.

The Cal Ripken League plays on two fields in Belfast and Waldo and is open to boys and girls, age 7-12, who are residents of Belfast, Swanville, Northport, Waldo, Belmont, and Morrill.  The league's season runs for 16 games plus playoffs.

There is a $20 registration fee, and the child's original birth certificate, proof of residency, and medical information must be provided at registration.

Tryouts will be held on March 23 and April 6 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Belfast Area High School. It is only necessary for players to attend one day of tryouts.
