ROCKLAND — Brian P. Edgecomb, 48, died unexpectedly Nov. 20, 2012, from injuries sustained in single vehicle accident on Route 17 in Hope.

Born in Portsmouth, N.H., May 5, 1964, he was the son of Terrance C. and Roberta A. Sibley Edgecomb. Brian grew up in Greenfield, Mass., where he attended local schools and Greenfield High School.

He later enlisted in the United States Army, serving more than 10 years.

Throughout most of his working career, Brian worked in food service management. He moved to this area from Ohio with Applebee's International Incorporated to build, open and manage that company's Thomaston location. More recently he worked at L & H Burger in Rockland and Chemrock Corporation in Thomaston.

Always an ardent sportsman, Brian volunteered many hours to the Pop Warner football program in Manchester, N.H., where he lived three years.

He was devoted to his daughter, who was the "light of his life."

Pre-deceased by his father, Brian is survived by his mother, Roberta LeBlanc and her husband, Richard, of Clermont, Fla.; his daughter, Brianna Rose Edgecomb of Camden; two sons, Zachary Edgecomb of California and Nathaniel Edgecomb of Arizona; his sister, Deborah A. Hutchinson and her husband, Michael, of Litchfield, N.H.; his brother, Terrence B. Edgecomb and his wife, Karen, of Kissimmee, Fla.; his companion, Sarah Boland of Rockland; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Private family services with military honors were held at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home in Rockland. A celebration of Brian's life will be announced at a later date.
