AUGUSTA — Beverly A. (Gross) Poliquin, 76, went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 12, 2014, in Augusta. She was born April 15, 1938, in Montville, the daughter of Dana and Ruth (Thompson) Gross.

She lived and went to school in Belfast for many years. She learned to tap dance at the Belfast Opera House at 3-years-old and growing up, she always had her younger sister, Shirley, by the hand.

Whether working at Whitcomb's Cafe or ironing clothes for neighbors, Beverly was always busy. In the 1960s she and her family moved to Epping, N.H., then to Newmarket, N.H. While living in New Market, she was leader for Brownie Troop #98. She loved cooking and bowling, holding the New Hampshire State Class A bowling championship title out of Friendship Lanes. Beverly was also an avid Bingo player and loved to set up at the flea market, selling and visiting with others.

She was a beautiful singer and enjoyed music, once taking a trip to see Minnie Pearl at the Grand Ole Opry. She also traveled across the country with her second husband, and stayed a few months with her daughter. It was remembered as a trip of a lifetime.

Beverly's greatest love was her family, and her longtime friend from high school, Beverly Gould. Also remembering her many friends from New Hampshire and Maine, who she maintained contact with over the years.

She is predeceased by her parents; her sister, Carol; her brother, Larry; her second husband, Albert Poliquin; his son, Ronnie; and their special dog, Bruno. Beverly is survived by her loving daughters, Cindy Moody and her husband, Raymond, of Monroe, and Vicki Poliquin and her partner, Mary Monahan, of Ventura, Calif.; and their father, Nathan Carr of Monroe; a stepson, Albert Poliquin Jr. and his wife, Yvonne, of Epping, N.H.; her dear sister, Shirley Jackson of Bucksport; her grandchildren, Joshua and Jackie Moody of Monroe, and Raymelle and Larason Guthrie of Belfast; also Mike Poliquin of Osippee, N.H.; as well as many aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank the staff at Glenridge Nursing Care in Augusta for their wonderful care.

Beverly was a member of the American legion Auxiliary for 45 years, and those who wish may make memorial contributions in Beverly's memory to American Legion Post 43, P.O. Box 45, Belfast, ME 04915.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Aug. 22 at 1 p.m. at Lighthouse Bible Church at 86 Prospect St. in Searsport.

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I've found that peace at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My Life's been full, I savoured much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch,
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free
