Bertha Dickey, obituary

CAMDEN — Bertha Pearse Dickey, 88, died Nov. 4, 2012, at Glen Ridge Nursing Home in Augusta. Born in Hope Jan. 17, 1924, she was the oldest child of Aubrey and Cora (Dennison) Pearse. On Sept. 17, 1941, she married Norman C. Dickey of Lincolnville.  They made their home in Hope then moved to Camden in 1950. 

Mrs. Dickey was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Rockland branch. 

She was best known throughout the community for her sewing skills, an art that she practiced for more than 45 years. 

Surviving are her four children, Lester Dickey and his wife, Connie, of Utah, Norma Peterson and her husband, Don, of Idaho, Frances Twitchell and her husband, Allen, of Camden, and Debra Manning and her husband, Jim, of Hobbs, N.M.; 15 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; her brother, Earl Pearse of Hope; her sister, Lois Benner of Owls Head; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman C. Dickey, in 1976; and three grandsons. 

Funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Old County Road in Rockland with Branch President Clinton Beverage officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Camden.
