Benjamin L. ‘Bunk’ Edgecomb, obituary

SEARSMONT — Benjamin Lee "Bunk" Edgecomb, 67, of Searsmont, passed away at Waldo County General Hospital March 24, 2014.

He was born Jan. 14, 1947, in Danvers, Mass., a son of the late Benjamin and Marion (Innis) Edgecomb.

Bunk served in the National Guard and worked many years for Viking Lumber. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time camping with his two dogs.

Bunk leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Nancy Edgecomb; his children, Tom Edgecomb and his wife, Patty, and Dennis Edgecomb; his grandsons, Thomas Edgecomb and Ben Thompson; his siblings, Laura Weeks and her friend, Jack, Paula Adam and her husband, Charlie, and Priscilla Cash and her husband, Dennis; and his sisters-in-law, Sandra Edgecomb and Marie Edgecomb. He also leaves behind his extended family, Joan Harvey and her husband, Steve, Jean Gould and her husband, Peter, Laura Jacobs and her husband, Eddie, Paul Newman, Peter Newman, John Newman and his wife, Linda, Ellen Owenby and Mary Luna, as well as his two best friends, Sam and Katie, and many other close friends too numerous to mention.

He was predeceased by John and Joyce Mehuren, Laurel Edgecomb, Bobbie Edgecomb, Charlie Edgecomb and Dale Edgecomb.

A time of gathering for family and friends to share in a potluck luncheon will be held Saturday, April 12, at 11 a.m. at the Liberty Community Hall, on Route 220 in Liberty.
