AMDEN — The The Atlantic Engine Company No. 2 is holding a benefit spaghetti dinner Saturday, Nov. 9, 5 to 9.m., at the First Congregational Church in Camden, at 55 Elm Street, for Assistant Fire Chief Bob Stiehler.

He is currently recovering at home from injuries suffered when he was struck by a car while in the crosswalk on Main Street in Camden. Stiehler, an electrician, is a successful small business owner who is unable to work and fulfill his duty while in recovery.

Stiehler was walking across Main Street in downtown Camden early Sunday afternoon, Oct. 13, when a motorist failed to stop and hit him with her car.

Camden Police Officer Allen Weaver Jr. said that 24-year-old Madeline Hamilton of Merrimack, N.H., was traveling north on Main Street (Route 1) as Stiehler, 52, and his wife, Mary, of Camden, were crossing the street in a marked crosswalk.

"The Stiehlers turned to wave to the southbound traffic that stopped for them and when they continued, Hamilton's car came through the crosswalk," said Weaver.

Stiehler was hit by the left front bumper of Hamilton's 2012 Volkswagon Beetle and thrown to the ground.

The dinner will be held at the Congregational Church, 55 Elm Street; $10 adults; $5 children under age 12; donations are welcome. There will also be a 50-50 raffle.
