BELFAST — The Belfast Police Department reported the following activity April 12-21. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.

    April 12
Officer Brian Lunt responded to the scene of a deer v. car accident on Poors Mill Road. The operator was uninjured. The vehicle sustained minor damage.

Officer Michael Rolerson responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Route 1, where a driver making a right-turn failed to yield to the right-of-way, striking another vehicle. The vehicle responsible for the collision was towed, the other vehicle involved sustained minor damage. Driver Charles Hamilton, 74, of Hamden, was issued a summons for failure to yield.

Officer Daniel Fitzpatrick responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Main Street where the operator of a Fed Ex truck pulled too far to the right, sideswiping a Toyota Sienna. Both drivers asked whether they could handle the matter privately, which was allowed.

    April 13
Officer Travis Spencer responded to the scene of a single-vehicle accident on Belmont Avenue where the operator began to swerve for unknown reasons. The driver then over-corrected the vehicle causing her to lose control, exiting the roadway on the right before striking a culvert. The impact caused the 2002 Ford to flip end-over-end. According to police reports, the operator told Spencer she was uninjured, which was confirmed by an on-scene examination by EMTs. She was then given Standard Field Sobriety Tests, which then resulted in her arrest for operating under the influence. Crystal Hall, 22, of Montville, was also given a blood-alcohol test at Waldo Count Jail.
