BELFAST — On Tuesday morning Sept. 2, a group of Belfast Garden Club members and friends gathered to dedicate a new bronze plaque in the small garden at the tip of High and Church Streets known as "Margaret's Point."

Margaret Mills was an active member of the Garden Club in the 1980s and 1990s who tended the park at High and Church now known as the Eleanor Crawford Memorial Park. After Margaret died in 1994, the Garden Club erected a white marble stone there in her honor.

That stone broke into four pieces several years ago and Belfast Parks and Recreation Director Norm Poirier arranged for a replacement. During the dedication ceremony, Belfast Historical Society and Museum president Megan Pinette presented the history of the park located behind what is now the American Legion building.
