BELFAST — Bangor Savings Bank Foundation awarded The Game Loft a grant of $2,500.00, in August, to support the program’s efforts in overcoming the transportation barriers that their youth face when accessing their free, fun and innovative programming. The Bangor Savings Bank Foundation continuously supports projects that will make our communities more prosperous, more livable, and more vibrant, and are happy to include The Game Loft among the Maine organizations that they work with.

The Game Loft is honored to have the continued support of the Bangor Savings Bank Foundation and will be utilizing the award to continue to offer rides to and from our program for area youth free of charge. The Game Loft provides an environment where young people are guided to become caring, competent, confident, contributing and connected adults. The mission of The Game Loft is to promote positive youth development through non-electronic games and community involvement.

The Loft is additionally funded in part with support from the City of Belfast and other Waldo County municipalities, United Midcoast Charities, United Way of Eastern Maine and many individual donors and other foundations.

The Loft is open Monday for young gamers 12 and under, Tuesday and Thursdays, from 2 to 6 p.m., Fridays 2 to 8:30 p.m. for young people age 18 and under, and at Mount View Middle School, Wednesdays, from 3 to 5:15 p.m. for youth in grades 3-12.  For more information visit us www.thegameloft.org
