ROCKPORT — Basil Wyman Robinson Sr., 70, died Nov. 4, 2012, at Maine Medical Center in Portland after battling ALS. Born in Camden Sept. 12, 1942, he was the son of Sarah Francis "Sadie" (Drinkwater) Robinson and John Cecil Robinson Sr. He was a graduate of Rockport High School.

Basil was a gifted and talented craftsman, business owner and cherished member of the Midcoast area. He was best known for his quality construction, mechanic abilities, love of Moxie, and great love of Westerns.

He was predeceased by his sister, Bertha (Robinson) Bachelor. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Marjorie D. Robinson; and their children, Elizabeth Noyes, Cynthia Kenyon, Kathy-Jo Parent, Susan Haynes, Kathy Wilson, Basil Robinson Jr., David Robinson, Jason Robinson, and Della Weeks; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his brother, John C. Robinson Jr.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 1 to 4 p.m. at High Mountain Hall, 5 Mountain St. in Camden.
