THOMASTON — Barbara Ann Roberts, 69, died peacefully Dec. 28, 2014, at her daughter's Rockland home, after a brief illness.

Born in Rockland on Dec. 30, 1944, she was the daughter of Alvin F. and Helen F. Flanders Goodrich. She was educated in local schools. After the untimely death of her father, she was raised by her mother and step-father, William C. Reed.

On March 24, 1964, Barbara married Calvin L. Roberts at the Federated Church in Thomaston. The couple made their home in Thomaston all their married lives. Barbara and Calvin celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary together this past March.

Barbara worked more than 17 years at Port Clyde Foods, and more recently as a clerk at Bob's Discount in Rockland.

She was an avid collector of dolls and boasted a collection totaling more than 3,000. She particularly enjoyed going to flea markets and yard sales, and took great pleasure in dickering for the best price.

Barbara's family fondly remembers the family trip to Florida with Mom, which included her grandchildren and their significant others. She really enjoyed Sea World and learning about the animals. She was also able to visit with close relatives, Linda and Larry Taylor and their family in Kissimmee, as well as Francis and Patricia Weaver in Floral City. She also visited with her friends, Pauline and Granville Green, who showed Barbara and Calvin the sights on a memorable day trip.

In addition to her husband of Thomaston, Barbara is survived by her daughter, Dianna Ross and her husband, Brett, of Rockland; her grandson, Dustin Lee Ross and his wife, Shannon, of Bowdoinham; her granddaughter, Brittany Lisa Mauricette and her husband, Eric, of Gaylord, Mich.; her brothers and sisters, including William Reed Jr. and his wife, Penny, of South China, Alvin F. Goodrich Jr., Robert Reed and his companion, Dorothy Grigor, all of Rockland, Edna Dean and her companion, Errol Pinkham, of Wiscasset, Linda Knight and her husband, Wesley, of Rockland, Rosemarie Eaton and her companion, Calvin Harpzell, of Rockland, and Gidget Nelson of Oklahoma; an uncle, Robert Flanders; and two aunts, Athlene (Arlene) Flanders and Joyce Fogg, all of Rockland; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M, Tuesday, Jan. 6 at 11 a.m. at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St. in Rockland. Interment will be in Village Cemetery in Thomaston.
