Attention Midcoast Actors’ Studio audience: Credit card snafu, money lost

Mon, 05/28/2018 - 8:15pm

Friends of Midcoast Actors' Studio,Thank you so much for supporting us and attending our recent production of Peter and the Starcatcher. There has been a lot of buzz about the show. We received lots of positive feedback from our audiences. We were pleased with the production and are looking forward to our August show, Cabaret.

Unfortunately, something went wrong at the shows. Apparently, none of our credit card sales at the door for Peter and the Starcatcher went through.

The Square credit card software has an option that swipes cards but doesn’t charge them, instead asking for a cash sale.

I honestly don't understand why this option exists, but nevertheless, MAS was not able to collect any credit card sales from the performances, which puts us in a critical position as a small nonprofit community theater.

If you came to see the show and paid with a credit card, you will notice on your credit card account that the sale didn't go through.

I know this awkward (I am not enjoying this), but if you could please pay MAS for the performance you saw, we would greatly appreciate it. You can go to midcoastactors.org and click the donate button and pay the ticket amount you would have paid. If you didn't attend the production, you are still welcome to donate as well.

Collecting these missing ticket sales will greatly help us with our next production, Cabaret. We promise we will clear up this error in the future so our audiences can pay with credit cards without issue.

    Thank you!
