BELFAST - Arthur “Bubby” Carter, 73, died peacefully Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at a nursing facility where he had been admitted for hospice.

Born February 21, 1944 he was a life-long resident of the Tenants Harbor, St. George, Rockland area. He was the son of Arthur Anderson and Edna Phyllis Carter.  He is survived by his children; grandchildren; siblings, and mother. He was loved and known by all in the community.

You could find him doing his favorite things; fishing with his brother Alan, coffee with the ‘liars club’ at Maritime Farms, and Friday cribbage nights at the Polky house. Sundays were spent playing cribbage with his daughter, Bethany, often supervised by his youngest grandson, Cole.  Always a hard worker, his favorite job was at RSU 13 as a custodian where he befriended many students and staff throughout the years.

A celebration of life is planned at a later date and his family will scatter his remains in the spring at his favorite place, Tenants Harbor.

The family wishes to thank Alan Craney, Kenny Elwell, The Polky Family, and Alan and Barbara Carter for all their love and support through this difficult time.  You are all in our hearts and we can’t thank you enough for your help whenever we needed it or shoulder to cry on.

Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home , 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
