THOMASTON — Arlene Mae Orcutt, 92, passed away peacefully on Jan. 26, 2017, at home in Thomaston. She was the beloved wife of Richard C. Orcutt, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage.

She was born in Northumberland, Pa., on Dec. 7, 1924, and was the daughter of the late James C. and Cora Warmkessel Steward. Arlene was a graduate of Stamford High School and also received her bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Connecticut, Storrs.

She was employed as an executive assistant to the CEO of Pitney Bowes, in Stamford, for many years. She also owned and operated her own nursery school and along with her husband, they ran an antique business out of their home in Connecticut and then in Waldoboro when they retired.

In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and quilting, but above all spending time with her family was first and foremost.

Arlene is survived by her children, Thomas Orcutt and his wife, Carolyn, of Thomaston, David Orcutt and his wife, Lisa, of Southwick, Mass., and Sara Riley and her husband, Curt, of Stamford, Conn.; and 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey Orcutt.

At the request of Arlene's family there will be no services.
