CAMDEN — Local residents have a new option for returning their recyclable bottles. The American Legion Hall Post 30 has a new collection box located in their headquarter’s front parking lot area on Pearl Street in Camden.

Returnable glass, plastic bottles, and cans all will be accepted to help raise funds for the Legion’s community service projects, according to Adjutant Jeff Sukeforth. The Legion’s designed projects for the upcoming year include giving away flags during parades and glow-in the-dark bracelets and necklaces for the safety of kids on Halloween.

The collection box was built by Cecil Dennison, service officer of the post and member John Hyssong. They recycled the former sign on the post’s building for the front of the bin.

Donations are accepted year-round and 24 hours a day.
