PORT CLYDE – Alice B. Belancik, 98, died Dec. 31, 2016, at the Sussman House in Rockport, after suffering a massive stroke on Dec. 23.

Born in Bath on Aug. 1, 1918, she was one of five children of Andrew C. and Izetta Robbins Breen. After moving to Port Clyde with her family at the age of 2, she attended local schools and was a 1936 graduate of St. George High School.

In 1942, she began employment at Pratt and Whitney in East Hartford, Conn., where she worked 21 years, retiring as a shortage clerk.

In 1961, Alice married Andrew Belancik in Manchester, Conn. The couple lived in Manchester until returning to Port Clyde following Alice's retirement.

She enjoyed several ocean cruises.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Alice was predeceased by three siblings, Lucy Mae Fuller, Gertrude Benner and Lloyd Breen. She is survived by one sister, Nancy Sherman and her husband, Clifford, of Port Clyde; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Private family services are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home. Private interment will be in South Parish Cemetery in Martinsville.
