ROCKLAND — Alexis Leigh Young Anderson, 19, died unexpectedly Jan. 24, 2016, in Rockland.

Born in Rockport on Nov. 6, 1996, she was the daughter of Jason and Tina Robinson Young. Lexie grew up in Thomaston and attended Georges Valley High School and Oceanside High School.

Following high school she moved with her mom to North Dakota. While there she met Brandon Anderson, who was stationed with the US Air Force. The two were married and later Lexie became the mom to a beautiful little girl, Ava Rae. Her family remembers this was one of the happiest days of her life. Her baby was her whole world. She loved nothing more than taking care of Ava, and making sure she had a good life.

Last year, Lexie and Ava returned to Maine, making the three day bus trip together. Growing up as a kid, Lexie loved the water, especially swimming and boogie-boarding at Popham Beach with her brother, and lobstering with her grandfather, Percy, and her cousin, Wyatt. While in grade school, Lexie played soccer and enjoyed cheering.

Lexie had a brave spirit, one that could take on any obstacle. One of her proudest moments was while hiking with her grandparents in the Bigelow Mountain Range in western Maine. Although she was afraid and exhausted, she pushed on with the help of her grandparents, and made it to the top.

She had an infectious smile that could light up a room, and she loved to have fun. She was always happy and loved nothing more than spending time with her friends and family. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.

Predeceased by an uncle, Jim Weaver; her “Papa” Richard Overlock; her great-grandfathers, William “Papa” Young and Henry Faller; Lexie is survived by her mother, Tina Young of Warren; her father, Jason Young of Swanville; her daughter, Ava Rae Anderson of Warren; her sister, Miranda Robinson of Minot, N.D.; her brother, Kevin Young of Rockport; her husband, Brandon Anderson of Nashville, Tenn.; her paternal grandparents, Ron and Patty Young of Warren; her maternal grandmother, Catherine Daniels of Warren; her maternal grandfather, Percy Robinson and his wife, Gail, of Thomaston; her paternal great-grandmother, Vera Young of Cushing; her maternal great-grandmother, Helen Faller of Clark Island; her aunts and uncles, Regina Robinson of Thomaston, Christina and Brian McFarland of Boothbay, and Melodey Weaver and her companion, Jim Crochere, of Thomaston; Daryl “Uncle Dale” Young of Warren; her nieces and nephews, Aubree Corson, Alicia Corson and Derrick Corson; her cousins, Wyatt Weaver, Ariel Weaver and Amy McFarland; her step-aunts, Chelsea Petereit, Stephanie Cross and Eric Johnston; and her step-cousins, Tabby and Amber Johnston, and Devin and Fox Whitman; as well as too many friends to count.
