BELFAST — Albert M. Verdosci, 77, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died peacefully on Jan. 18, 2017, surrounded by family. He was born Aug. 13, 1939, in Waterbury, Conn., to Attilio and Angeline (DeMichele) Verdosci.

Formerly of Meriden, Conn., Albert moved to Belfast in 2004 to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren. An avid lover of the ocean, he really enjoyed spending time down by the water in the coastal town of Belfast. Albert loved to read, play cards and enjoyed cooking a hearty Italian meal to share with family and friends. Albert had a passion for sports, having played softball for many years in Meriden as an award-winning first baseman. A lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox, University of Connecticut basketball and the New England Patriots, Albert never missed a game.

He was predeceased by his parents; and his brother, Ronald Verdosci of Thomaston, Conn. Albert is survived by and will be missed by his daughters, Susan Mulligan and her husband, Brian, of Meriden, Conn., and Sandra Menard and her husband, Bud, of Jackson, Maine; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two special cousins who he loved as siblings, Anita Egan of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Bill Williams of Windsor, Conn., as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

A graveside service will be held at Jackson Corner Cemetery and announced in the spring. Those who wish may make donations in Albert's memory to The Commons, Tall Pines Assisted Living Unit, 34 Martin Lane, Belfast, ME 04915, where Albert volunteered for several years and recently resided.
