Adventures Series looks back at 400 years of holidays in New England

Quarry Hill and Camden Public Library invite adults age 50-plus to take a break from the hustle-bustle of the holiday season and enjoy a relaxing look back at "Four Centuries of Christmas in New England," a free, educational presentation set for Wednesday, December 13, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. (snow date: December 20) at Camden Public Library. The program is part of Quarry Hill's popular Adventures in Living Well series and will be cosponsored by the Camden library.

Speaker Kenneth Turino's illustrated talk will take listeners back to the 1600s, revealing the surprising transformations that have continuously shaped and reshaped the region's yuletide celebrations.

Turino is manager of community engagement and exhibitions for Historic New England, a nonprofit organization based in Boston.
