BELFAST — Adrian L. Turner Sr., 72, passed away Aug. 20, 2015. Adrian was born Dec. 14, 1942, in Rockland, son of Leroy and Flora (Linscott) Turner.

Adrian was one of seven children and grew up in Maine. After high school, he first joined the Navy and then spent 18 years with the merchant marines, working on a tanker.

Adrian enjoyed many things, including NASCAR, fishing, hunting and camping throughout Maine with his beloved wife, Ann. He also loved making bat houses and over many years has made them for people across the country.

Adrian was predeceased by his wife, Ann Turner in 2006; also a sister, Maud Ghent; and his brother, Elmer Turner. He is survived by his children, Adrian "Abe" Turner Jr. of Rockland and Lisa Turner of Lincolnville; his stepchildren, Laurie Dodge of Windham, Lynne Kimball and her husband, Christian, of Orange Park, Fla., and Veronica Cormier and her husband, Joseph, of Limerick; and his siblings, Erwin Turner of Porter, Ruth Worcester of New Hampshire, Janet Blood of Morrill and Ronald Turner of Appleton. He also leaves behind several grandchildren and his pug, Miss Molly.

Visiting hours will be held Monday, Aug. 24 from noon to 1 p.m., with a funeral service beginning immediately after at 1 p.m. on  at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave. in Belfast. Military honors and committal will follow at Grove Cemetery in Belfast.
