TENANTS HARBOR — The Jackson Memorial Library welcomes Maine resident, acclaimed journalist and Academy Award-winning filmmaker, Peter Davis, who will discuss his first novel, Girl of My Dreams, on Tuesday, July 19, at the Ocean View Grange in Martinsville. The evening will begin with a reception at 5:30 p.m.

Throughout his tenure with CBS News, Davis was known as a preeminent writer, investigative journalist and documentarian. Davis has made his career covering the Vietnam era, the Sandanistas and most recently the war in Iraq. His award winning works include Hearts and Minds, a documentary of the Vietnam War, the Peabody award-winning The Selling of the Pentagon, his Pulitzer nominee Where is Nicaragua?, and the Emmy-nominated Middletown Series for PBS.

Girl of My Dreams takes Davis out of his usual comfort zone as he delves into the world of fiction. He chooses Hollywood at the height of the Depression and its collision with Communism as a venue. Fast paced, dramatic and defining of Hollywood in its Golden Age, it is a delight to read.
